Kate is an accomplished musician and pianist who came to piano tuning as a result of her study of the piano. Kate trained to tune, regulate and repair pianos with Stephen Venn at his shop and workshop in Southsea, before developing experience of tuning and servicing pianos in people’s homes. She has now established a small workshop close to home in Gosport, and in addition to the Gosport and Fareham areas also tunes in Portsmouth, Southsea and surrounding areas.
In addition to hundreds of domestic tunings, Kate has tuned pianos for the University of Portsmouth, the Royal Marines School of Music and Churchers College in Petersfield. She strives to do the best for each and every piano and brings the insight of a practising pianist to her tuning, in addition to the technical knowledge that comes with her training and experience.

Clanfield based, Harry was one of the last generation of shop apprentices who gained his experience at the Bedhampton Pianoshop. Working on all manner of tuning and restoration from a rebuilding to retail perspective, and as such has a vast wealth of knowledge on pianos of all makes.

Stephen Tait (07800 956888)
Stephen Tait first started tuning in 2002 with Stephen Venn at the Southsea shop. Working on tuning and the many aspects of piano restoration and repair he gained many years of experience tuning in the Portsmouth area.
Over the years he has tuned for many domestic clients, for schools such as Prebendal (Chichester) and also the Royal Navy, including on Queen Elizabeth II Aircraft Carrier. He has also tuned on board many of the cruise ships in Southampton docks.
In 2017 he relocated to Downton near Salisbury and now works mainly in the Salisbury area.
Areas covered by Stephen Tait are: Salisbury and South Wiltshire, Romsey, Eastleigh, Southampton, Chandler’s Ford, Ringwood, and all New Forest areas.
