Stephen Venn, MPTA
Please note I am now working part-time, and only for existing clients. I am not normally taking on new work.
I trained during the early 1990s with a local piano shop/workshop (Roberts Pianos) as well as with various other tuners. In my 32 years in the piano trade I have gained a wealth of experience from tuning, maintaining and restoring pianos of all sorts – from the most dilapidated ‘old bangers’ right up to the top concert instruments for some of the world’s greatest pianists. As a member of the Pianoforte Tuners Association I am also part of the network of top professionals in the trade.
Areas I normally cover include Denmead, Waterlooville, Portsmouth, Southsea, Petersfield, Havant, Fareham.

Kate Burrows BA(hons), dipABRSM, LRSM (07811 502735)
Kate is an accomplished musician and pianist who came to piano tuning as a result of her study of the piano. Kate trained to tune, regulate and repair pianos with Stephen Venn at his shop and workshop in Southsea, before developing experience of tuning and servicing pianos in people’s homes. She has now established a small workshop close to home in Gosport, and in addition to the Gosport and Fareham areas also tunes in Portsmouth, Southsea and surrounding areas.
In addition to hundreds of domestic tunings, Kate has tuned pianos for the University of Portsmouth, the Royal Marines School of Music and Churchers College in Petersfield. She strives to do the best for each and every piano and brings the insight of a practising pianist to her tuning, in addition to the technical knowledge that comes with her training and experience.
