A full member of the Pianoforte Tuners Association, Stephen Venn is an experienced Concert Tuner/Technician, having carried out the tuning for the main concert venue in Portsmouth for the past 15 years, as well as contract tunings for the major London piano companies when hiring pianos to this area.

We provide a dependable, high quality tuning service for pianos of all types in any situation - concerts, jazz clubs, churches, colleges, music schools, domestic etc. - and aim to give as much help and advice as possible to enable you to care for your piano and get the best out of it.

Our standard tuning fee is currently £50. For pianos that are extremely out of tune or require pitch raising, there may be an extra charge of £20-£30. A quote will be given before the work is undertaken. Discounts are available for regular and frequent tunings. There are special rates for sites with more than one piano (e.g Schools, Colleges) - normally £35 for each additional piano after the first.

Areas normally covered include: Denmead, Waterlooville, Portsmouth, Southsea, Petersfield, Midhurst, Havant, Chichester, Fareham, Gosport, Titchfield, Warsash, Eastleigh, Winchester and their surrounding areas. For areas further afield please enquire. Please note there may be an additional travelling charge.

Any sort of repair and adjustment can be undertaken - from minor adjustments or broken hammers through to restringing and complete restoration. The aim is to obtain the best possible performance, in both tone and touch, from your piano. The cost is obviously dependent on the amount of work involved, so we will be happy to arrange a visit to assess the piano and provide a quotation.

Repairs can be made to chipped or discoloured keys, whether ivory or plastic, or the key covering can be completely renewed if necessary. Casework repairs and improvements can be arranged, using other local craftsmen for cabinet work or french polishing (see links to make direct contact if you prefer).
